The mission of the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources (DEDJTR) is to get our economy and society working together for the benefit of all Victorians – by creating more jobs for more people, connecting people and businesses, and maintaining Victoria's envied reputation for liveability now, and for the future.

Description:

Agriculture

Agriculture Victoria works with the agriculture industry on research, development and extension to improve production, connect the sector with international markets, support development and maintain effective biosecurity controls.

Agriculture Victoria has a governance and policy role regarding the management of fisheries, forestry and game species in close collaboration with our agencies and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).

Cultural and creative economy

Creative Victoria invests in ideas and talent, creative and cultural organisations, and innovative events and projects across the state. The creative industries are an evolving mix of sectors spanning arts, culture, screen, design, publishing and advertising and encompassing activities that are commercially driven and community based, experimental and export ready, and everything in between.

Employment programs

The department delivers a series of programs that aim to increase employment opportunities and assist disadvantaged Victorians in finding work. Jobs Victoria provides targeted support services for people looking for work and employers looking for workers, consolidating all Victorian employment services into one system.
