Our focus is grounded in real-world applications to alleviate relatively common disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and epilepsy.
The platform technologies being created will have application to other challenging neurological disorders, as well as certain psychiatric conditions (e.g., obsessive compulsive disorder).


Our organisation

The Bionics Institute is an independent medical research institute, affiliated with the University of Melbourne, undertaking world-class medical bionics research, focussed particularly on neural prostheses.
