Extracta is a newly-formed company that creates high-value ingredients from food and agriculture surplus. These ingredients are then either on-sold to other industries such as nutraceutical, food and cosmetic manufacturers or sold B2B via our distributors.

The company was initially formed to supply its associated business MediKane with sugarcane fibre to make MediKane’s digestive health products. MediKane previously imported sugarcane fibre from Japan as no supplier exists in Australia that can meet MediKane’s quality of supply requirements.

From that initial product, Extracta has identified many potential products including pectin, grape seed flour, grape seed oil and tartaric acid. A key Extracta manufacturing advantage is using one man.
